Next week Thursday, 7th April, we'll be kicking off our Film Club with our first screening!
The plan is to show a film once a month, and have a chat afterwards with some drinks.
For our first film, we'll be showing ENJOY POVERTY by Renzo Martens (2014). The film explores the 'industry' in fighting poverty, focusing on the DR Congo, revealing how little incentive there is for many charities and westerners there to eradicate poverty when it directly benefits them. And that in fact imagery surrounding poverty could be the Congolese's greatest export.
