Next Thursday, 30th January, 7.15pm, our Film Club will be returning with our first film of the year!

This time we'll be seeing Reinas (Klaudia Reynicke, Peru, 2024, 1h44m).

From the producers of "Summer 1993" and "20,000 Species of Bees" comes this luminous journey between fathers and daughters, nominated for an Oscar and awarded at the Berlin Film Festival, which features, among others, Goya winner Susi Sánchez.

Peru, 1990s. The political situation in the country is very turbulent with the military controlling the streets. Two teenage sisters are about to leave the country forever when they unexpectedly meet up with an absent father. To leave Peru, the mother needs his permission. The reunion will both amplify and alleviate her pain at the imminent change.

NB the film is in Spanish with Spanish subtitles.
